Connect Raken to InEight to automatically transfer your daily reports, subcontractor reports, photos, videos, and PDF attachments into InEight's Document Management module. Keep your entire project team on the same page about jobsite progress without manually moving files between platforms.

Quick Answer

To connect InEight to Raken:

  1. Set up template documents in your InEight project (required before connecting).

  2. Log into the Raken web app and click Company > Integrations.

  3. Click the InEight tile, click + Connect, and authenticate with your InEight credentials.

  4. Link your Raken and InEight projects.

Requires the Performance Plan.

What Syncs to InEight

Once your projects are linked, the following content transfers automatically to the InEight Documents module:

  • Daily Reports

  • Super Daily Reports

  • Collaborator (Subcontractor) Reports

  • Project Photos

  • Videos

  • PDF Attachments

Before You Connect: InEight Setup Requirements

Before connecting in Raken, complete the following steps in your InEight project. These are required for the integration to function correctly.

Enable Auto-Numbering

In your InEight project settings, enable Auto-numbering for the Documents module using the trigger "auto". Only the Documents module requires this setting.

Create Template Documents

Raken uses template documents in InEight to determine the correct metadata and document format for each content type it transfers. You must create these templates in InEight before connecting — place all templates in a folder named Templates so Raken can locate them.

The document number field on each template must be set exactly as listed below. These document numbers are how Raken identifies which template to use for each content type.

Required templates:

  • RAKEN_DAILY_REPORT_TEMPLATE — Applied to all daily report types when optional templates are not present

  • RAKEN_ATTACHMENT_TEMPLATE — Applied to all attachments (photos, PDFs, Excel, Word, etc.)

Optional templates:

  • RAKEN_SUB_DAILY_REPORT_TEMPLATE — Applied to Collaborator (Subcontractor) Reports; falls back to RAKEN_DAILY_REPORT_TEMPLATE if not present

  • RAKEN_SUPER_DAILY_REPORT_TEMPLATE — Applied to Super Daily Reports; falls back to RAKEN_DAILY_REPORT_TEMPLATE if not present

You also need an active InEight project with API access enabled for each project you want to integrate. Contact InEight Support if API access is not currently enabled on your projects.

How to Connect InEight

Step 1: Navigate to Integrations

Log into the Raken web app. Click Company in the left side navigation, then click Integrations.

Step 2: Connect InEight

Click the InEight tile to open the integration settings. Click the orange + Connect button in the top right. Enter your InEight login credentials in the window that appears.

Step 3: Link Your Projects

You'll be returned to the Projects section of the integration settings. Choose the Raken project, Company Name, and corresponding InEight project from the dropdowns, then click + Configuration. Repeat for each project you want to connect.

Once linked, new Raken content will sync to the InEight Documents module for the configured projects going forward.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

My content isn't appearing in InEight — what should I check?

The most common cause is a missing or incorrectly named template document in InEight. Verify that your RAKEN_DAILY_REPORT_TEMPLATE and RAKEN_ATTACHMENT_TEMPLATE exist in a folder named Templates and that the document number fields are set exactly as listed. Also confirm that Auto-numbering is enabled in the Documents module with the trigger set to "auto".

What InEight account permissions are required?

API access must be enabled for each InEight project you want to integrate. Contact InEight Support to confirm API access is active on your projects.

Do I need to set up templates for every project?

Yes. Template documents must be set up in each InEight project you want to connect. The RAKEN_DAILY_REPORT_TEMPLATE and RAKEN_ATTACHMENT_TEMPLATE are required in every project; the sub-report and super daily templates are optional.

Does historical data sync when I first connect?

No. The integration syncs new content only — reports, photos, and attachments created after the project is linked in Raken. Historical data is not backfilled.

Technical Specifications

  • Plan required: Performance Plan

  • Role required: Account Administrator

Considerations

  • Requires the Performance Plan.

  • RAKEN_DAILY_REPORT_TEMPLATE and RAKEN_ATTACHMENT_TEMPLATE must be created in InEight with exact document numbers before connecting — the integration will not function without them.

  • All templates must be placed in a folder named Templates in InEight.

  • Auto-numbering must be enabled in the InEight Documents module with the trigger set to "auto".

  • API access must be enabled per project in InEight — contact InEight Support to confirm.

  • Only new content syncs — historical data is not backfilled after connecting.
