How to Complete a Checklist on Mobile
Step 1: Navigate to Checklists
Open the Raken mobile app. Tap Project Tools in the bottom navigation bar and select your project. Tap Safety & QC in the project tools grid, then tap Checklists.
Step 2: Open a Checklist
The Checklists screen has three tabs:
Scheduled — checklists assigned to you or your team with a due date. Tap any scheduled checklist to open and complete it.
In Progress — checklists you've started and saved as draft. Tap to resume.
Completed — submitted checklists.
To start a new, unscheduled checklist, tap the orange + button in the bottom right corner.
Step 3: Select a Template (if starting new)
If starting a new checklist, a template selection screen appears. Toggle between your company's custom templates and the Raken library tab. Search by keyword or scroll to find the right template. Tap the template name to open it.
Step 4: Complete the Checklist Items
Work through each item in the checklist. For each item, tap to mark it as:
Pass — the condition is satisfactory
Fail — the condition needs attention
N/A — the item does not apply
Tap any item to expand it and add a note or attach a photo. For items marked Fail, add a description of the issue and any corrective action taken or required.
Step 5: Save or Submit
When all items are complete, tap Submit to finalize the checklist. The completed checklist is synced to the web app immediately and appears in the Completed tab.
If you need to pause and return later, tap Save as draft. The checklist moves to the In Progress tab and you can pick up where you left off.
Completing Checklists Offline
Raken's mobile app supports offline checklist completion. If you lose connectivity while on site, you can continue working through a checklist normally — your progress is saved locally. When your device reconnects, the completed checklist syncs to the web app automatically.
For offline access to work, the project must be cached on your device. Raken automatically caches your 5 most recently active projects. You can adjust offline project preferences under More > Settings > Offline preferences.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
I don't see any scheduled checklists — why?
Checklists must be scheduled by an Account Admin or Project Admin from the web app before they appear in your Scheduled tab. If nothing is scheduled, start a new checklist using the + button and select a template.
Can I go back and change an answer after saving?
Yes — as long as the checklist is still in draft (In Progress). Once submitted, the checklist is locked. If a submitted checklist has an error, contact your administrator.
Can I attach multiple photos to a single item?
Yes. Tap the item to expand it, then tap the camera icon multiple times to add multiple photos to the same checklist item.
Where can I see checklists I've already submitted?
Tap the Completed tab on the Checklists screen to view all submitted checklists for the project. Tap any completed checklist to view its details.
