Groups let you organize your projects and employees in ways that match how your business actually runs β by region, division, trade, crew, or union. Once set up, Groups make it easier to filter data, schedule resources, and manage crew time cards across your whole account.

To create a Group, click Company in the left side navigation bar, select Groups, then click + New Group. Choose a class, name the group, and save.
How to Create a Group on the Web
Step 1: Navigate to Groups
Log into the Raken Web App. Click Company in the left side navigation bar, then click Groups.
Step 2: Create a New Group
Click the + New Group button. Select a Class for the group:
Crews β Enables field employees to create Crew Time Cards.

Divisions
General
Regions
Trades
Unions
Step 3: Name and Save
Enter a name for the group and click the orange Save button.
How to Assign Projects to a Group
From the Company Level
Click Company > Groups, select the group, click Projects, select the projects, and click Save.
From the Project Level
Open the project, click Settings > General, find the Project groups field, select the group(s), and click Save.
How to Assign Employees to a Group
From the Company Level
Click Company > Groups, select the group, click Employees, select employees, and click Save.
From the Employee Profile
Click Directory > Employees, open the profile, find the Employee groups field under Info, select the group(s), and click Save.
How to Use Crews on Mobile
Once a Crews group is set up on the web, supervisors can log time for the entire crew in one tap from the mobile app.
Creating a Crew
Open the Raken mobile app and tap Time in the bottom navigation bar.
Tap Select crew, then tap the + button in the top right corner.
Enter a name, select employees, and tap Save.
Logging Crew Time
Once a crew is saved, supervisors can tap Select crew on the Time tab and choose the crew to begin logging time for all crew members at once. This eliminates the need to enter each employee's time individually β making it significantly faster for foremen managing larger crews in the field.

What is the difference between Groups and Crews?
Crews is one specific class of Group. Creating a group with the Crews class enables mobile Crew Time Cards. All other group classes are for organizational filtering and reporting only.
Can a project or employee belong to more than one group?
Yes. Both projects and employees can be assigned to multiple groups simultaneously.
Can I use Groups to filter Insights data?
Yes. The Insights dashboard allows you to filter data by project group.
