Photo watermarks automatically overlay important project information onto photos taken in the Raken mobile app — including your company logo, project name, timestamp, and GPS coordinates. This article explains how to enable and configure watermarks at the project and company template level.

Quick Answer

To enable photo watermarks, go to Projects > [Your Project] > Settings > Photos and toggle Enable Watermark for this project on. Select the fields to include and click Save.

What Watermarks Include

When enabled, watermarks are automatically applied to photos taken in the Raken mobile app on that project. You can choose which information appears in the watermark:

  • Company logo

  • Company name

  • Project name

  • Timestamp

  • GPS coordinates

  • Auto-generated location

You can also choose the watermark alignment — where the watermark appears on the photo (top-left, bottom-right, etc.).

How to Enable Watermarks at the Project Level

  1. Log into the Raken web app.

  2. Click Projects and select your project.

  3. Scroll down in the left side menu and click Settings.

  4. Select Photos.

  5. Toggle Enable Watermark for this project on.

  6. Check the boxes next to the fields you want included in the watermark.

  7. Choose your preferred watermark alignment.

  8. Click Save in the top right corner.

How to Enable Watermarks at the Company Template Level

To apply watermarks across multiple projects at once, configure the setting in a Project Template.

  1. Log into the Raken web app.

  2. Click Company, then select Project templates.

  3. Click the ellipsis (…) next to the template and select Edit.

  4. Navigate to the Watermark section.

  5. Check Enable Watermark for this project.

  6. Select the fields to include and set the alignment.

  7. Click Save.

  8. Return to the templates list, click the ellipsis, select Apply to projects, choose the relevant projects, and click Apply.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

GPS coordinates aren't showing on my photos — why?

GPS coordinates require location services to be enabled with Precise Location selected on the employee's device. This setting is found in the device's Settings app under Location Services for the Raken app. Refer to Android location settings or iOS location settings for setup instructions.

Do watermarks apply to photos uploaded from the camera roll, or only photos taken in the app?

Watermarks are only applied to photos taken directly in the Raken mobile app. Photos uploaded from a device's camera roll are not watermarked.

Are watermarks applied retroactively to previously taken photos?

No. Watermarks apply to photos taken after the feature is enabled. Existing photos are not updated.

Technical Specifications

  • Compatibility: Web app (settings); iOS 15+, Android 10+ (photo capture)

  • Offline Capability: Watermarks are applied at capture — no active connection required for the watermark itself

  • Plan Required: All plans

  • Role Required: Account Administrator or Project Administrator

Considerations

  • Watermarks only apply to photos taken in the Raken mobile app — not to uploaded images.

  • GPS coordinates require Precise Location to be enabled on the employee's device. Remind your field team to enable this in their device settings.

  • Watermark settings are per project — each project can have its own watermark configuration.
