Photos are one of the most powerful tools in your daily report. Raken makes it easy to capture and attach photos, videos, and documents directly from the field — so your reports always tell the full story.

Quick Answer

To add a photo to a daily report:

  1. Tap Project tools and select your project.

  2. Tap Daily logs, then tap Attachments.

  3. Tap the orange + button.

  4. Choose Take photo, Select photo, or Select file and tap to save.

Where You Can Add Photos and Files in Raken

Attachments can be added in several places within a project:

  • Daily logs > Attachments — photos attached to the overall daily report

  • Daily logs > Work logs — photos attached to a specific work log entry

  • Daily logs > Notes — photos attached to a specific note

  • Daily logs > Time cards — photos attached to a time card entry

  • Gallery — upload directly to the project photo gallery

  • Documents — upload files to project document storage

How to Add Attachments to a Daily Report

Step 1: Navigate to Attachments

Tap Project tools and select your project. Tap Daily logs, then tap Attachments.

Step 2: Tap the + Button

Tap the orange + button to open the attachment options.

Step 3: Choose Your Attachment Method

  • Take photo — opens your camera to capture a new photo or video directly in Raken.

  • Select photo — opens your device's photo library to choose an existing photo or video.

  • Select file — opens your device's file manager or connected cloud storage to upload a document.

Step 4: Add a Caption and Save

Add a caption if needed, then tap the checkmark to save.

How to Add Photos to Work Logs or Notes

The same three options (Take photo, Select photo, Select file) are available when creating or editing a Work log or Note. Tap the attachment icon at the bottom of the entry form to access them.

Searching for Photos on iOS

When the iOS photo picker opens, use the search bar at the top to find photos by date, subject, or location — for example, "concrete", "April 4", or a location name.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

Photos I take in Raken — where do they save?

By default, photos taken in the Raken app are saved to both your project and your device's camera roll. You can change this in More > Settings > Photo and video settings.

Can I attach multiple photos at once?

Yes. When selecting photos from your library, you can tap multiple images before confirming to attach them all at once.

What file types can I attach?

Raken supports photos (JPG, PNG, HEIC), videos, PDFs, and common document formats. See the Document Storage article for the full list of supported file types.

Technical Specifications

  • Compatibility: iOS 15+, Android 10+

  • Offline Capability: Yes — attachments saved offline sync when connection is restored

Considerations

  • Photos taken in the Raken app are saved to your device by default. Adjust this in More > Settings > Photo and video settings.

  • If Photo Watermarks are enabled on your project, watermarks are applied automatically to photos taken in the app — not to photos uploaded from your camera roll.
