In this article, learn how the Raken mobile app is organized so your field team can find what they need and start logging quickly.

The Raken mobile app is built for the field. It's where your crew logs daily reports, tracks time, completes safety checklists, and captures photos — right from the jobsite. This article gives new users a quick orientation so they can find what they need from day one.

Quick Answer

The Raken mobile app is organized around a bottom navigation bar with four tabs: Project Tools, Time, Schedule, and More. Download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and log in to get started.

The Bottom Navigation Bar

The four tabs at the bottom of the screen are your starting point for everything in Raken.

Project Tools

Your field reporting hub. Tap Project Tools to select a project and access all project-level tools. Once inside a project, you'll see:

  • Daily Logs — Log your daily report, work logs, time cards, notes, attachments, and survey responses

  • Safety & QC — Complete toolbox talks, checklists, and observations

  • Tasks — View and update tasks assigned to you

  • Forms — Complete custom forms for your workflow

  • Documents — Access project files

  • Gallery — Browse project photos

  • Project directory — See who's on the project

Tip: Time card entry for individual employees is done here via Daily Logs > Time Cards. This is also the path for offline time entry.

Time

Your crew time management hub. The Time tab is designed for supervisors managing a crew and gives you four sub-tabs:

  • Clock — Clock crew members in and out, view live hour totals for all employees

  • Entries — View and create time entries for your crew, grouped by date

  • Summary — Review total hours for the pay period per crew member, with RT/OT/DT breakdowns

  • Review — Manage time card issues, sign-off status, approvals, Photo ID flags, and Clock in/out question responses

Note: The Time tab is designed for crew-based entry and currently requires a crew selection. For individual time entry without a crew, use Project Tools > Daily Logs > Time Cards instead.

Schedule

View your assigned schedule and upcoming shifts. Workers and team members can see what's planned for their projects directly from this tab.

More

Access account-level settings and personal options. From More you can:

  • My Time — View your own personal time card entries and clock history (Summary, Entries, and Clock sub-tabs)

  • Messages — Send and receive messages with your team

  • Notifications — Manage your notification preferences

  • Profile — Update your personal information

  • Subscription — View or manage your plan

  • Help — Access the Raken Help Center

  • Log out — Sign out of your account

Inside a Project

When you tap a project in Project Tools, the main screen opens to the Daily Logs view for today. You'll see a date strip at the top to navigate between days, and a list of sections below (Work logs, Time cards, Notes, Attachments, Survey, Preview report, Sign & complete).

To switch to a different section, tap it from the list. To navigate to other tools within the project (Safety, Tasks, Forms, Documents, etc.), use the back arrow to return to the project tools menu.

What Workers See

The mobile app experience varies by role:

  • Project Workers — Access is limited to My Time (under More) and Schedule. Workers clock in and out from My Time > Clock.

  • Project Members and above — Full access to Project Tools, Time, Schedule, and More.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

I can't see a project in Project Tools — why?

Employees must be assigned to a project by an Account Admin before it appears in their Project Tools. Contact your Account Admin to be added to the relevant project.

Where do I clock in as a worker?

Tap More in the bottom nav, then tap My Time. From there, tap the Clock tab and tap Clock In. The Time Clock add-on is required for worker self-clock-in.

Where do I enter time for my crew?

Tap Time in the bottom nav. Make sure a crew is selected using the ellipsis (…) menu at the top right, then tap + to create a new time entry. For individual time entry, use Project Tools > Daily Logs > Time Cards.

Does the app work without an internet connection?

Yes — partially. Daily report logging (Work logs, Notes, Photos) and time card entry via Daily Logs > Time Cards work offline. Entries sync automatically when your connection is restored. The Time tab requires an active connection. See Working with Raken Offline for more details.

How do I sign and complete a daily report?

From inside a project in Project Tools, scroll to the bottom of the Daily Logs screen and tap Sign & complete. Review the report, add your signature, and tap Complete.

Considerations

  • The Time tab is designed for crew-based workflows. Individual time entry on mobile is done via Project Tools > Daily Logs > Time Cards.

  • Project Workers only see My Time and Schedule. All other roles see the full app.

  • The Time Clock add-on is required for worker self-clock-in via My Time.

  • The Review sub-tab under Time (Photo ID, Clock questions, Per Diem) is only available to accounts with the Time Clock add-on.

  • Offline entry syncs automatically when your connection is restored.
