Setting Up Cost Codes and Budgets
Step 1: Set Up Cost Codes
Log into the Raken web app.
Click Company in the left side menu.
Select Cost Codes to manage your company-level list.
Add cost codes that reflect the types of work tracked on your projects (e.g., Concrete, Framing, Electrical).
Step 2: Create Budgets for a Project
Open a Project from your dashboard.
Click Production in the left side menu.
Click + Add Budget or select the cost code you want to budget.
Enter your budgeted hours or quantities for each cost code.
Click Save.
Logging Production Hours Against Cost Codes
On Mobile (Field)
Open the Raken mobile app and navigate to your project.
Tap Daily logs in the Project tools grid.
Open or create today's Daily Report and navigate to the Work Log section.
Select the appropriate Cost Code for the work being performed.
Enter the hours worked or quantity completed.
Tap the ✓ checkmark to save. Hours sync in real time to the web app.
On the Web
Open a Project and click Production in the left side menu.
Click into the relevant cost code entry.
Enter or adjust the hours or quantity for the day.
Click Save.
Reviewing Progress and Completion
The Production dashboard gives you a real-time view of where each cost code stands against your budget.
Hours Logged vs. Budget: See actual hours worked compared to your estimated budget for each cost code.
Completion Percentage: Raken calculates how far along each cost code is based on logged progress.
Remaining Work: Identify which areas are on track and which may be falling behind before it becomes a problem.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
My field team doesn't see cost codes when logging time. What's wrong?
Cost codes must be set up at the company level first, then assigned to the project. Go to Company > Cost Codes to confirm they are active and linked to your project.
Can I export a production report?
Yes. From the Production section, you can generate and download reports to share with project stakeholders.
