Raken automatically tracks total hours logged on your projects over time. The Hours to Date feature displays cumulative manpower data on your daily reports — no manual calculation required. This article explains how to control whether Hours to Date appears on your reports.

What Is Hours to Date?

Hours to Date is a running total of all hours logged for each work log entry across the life of a project. By default, it appears on your completed daily reports in the Work Logs section, showing the cumulative hours worked to date alongside each entry. This gives project managers and stakeholders a quick view of total project labor without needing a separate report.

How to Enable or Disable Hours to Date

You can control whether Hours to Date appears on your reports at either the project level or the company template level.

At the Project Level

  1. Log into the Raken web app.

  2. Click Projects and select your project.

  3. Click Settings in the left side menu, then select Daily Reporting.

  4. Navigate to the Report Sections tab.

  5. Under Daily logs, check or uncheck Total hours to date.

  6. Click Save in the top right corner.

At the Company Template Level

To apply changes across multiple projects at once, update the setting in a Project Template and push it to your projects.

  1. Log into the Raken web app.

  2. Click Company in the left side navigation, then select Project templates.

  3. Click the ellipsis (…) next to the template you want to edit and select Edit.

  4. Navigate to the Daily Report section.

  5. Under Daily logs, check or uncheck Total hours to date.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Return to the Project templates list, click the ellipsis for the template, and select Apply to projects. Choose the relevant projects and click Apply.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

I enabled Hours to Date but it's not showing on my report yet — why?

Changes to report sections take effect the following day. If you saved the setting today, it will appear on tomorrow's daily report.

Does Hours to Date show per employee or per work log entry?

Hours to Date is tracked per work log entry — it shows the cumulative total for that work log's labor category across the project's entire history.
