The Raken + ComputerEase CSV integration formats your Raken time card export to match the ComputerEase import layout — so you can download a pre-formatted CSV from Raken and import it directly into ComputerEase without any reformatting. It's the fastest way to get time out of Raken and into ComputerEase for payroll processing.
Quick Answer
To enable the ComputerEase CSV integration:
Log into the Raken web app and click Company > Integrations.
Click the ComputerEase tile and click + Connect.
Export your time cards from Time > Timesheets, select ComputerEase from the download options.
Requires the Performance Plan.
How It Works
This is a flat file / CSV export integration — not an automatic API sync. Once enabled, Raken formats your time card export file to match the ComputerEase Labor Distribution import layout. You download the CSV from Raken and import it into ComputerEase manually.
Before exporting, make sure the following fields are set correctly in Raken — these are required for ComputerEase to process the import:
Job Number (Project ID # in Raken)
Employee ID (Employee No. in Raken)
Cost Code — must be in the format
[Job].[Phase].[Category], for example100.A.50Phase Number (if applicable)
How to Enable the Integration
Step 1: Navigate to Integrations
Log into the Raken web app. Click Company in the left side navigation, then click Integrations.
Step 2: Connect ComputerEase
Click the ComputerEase tile to open the integration settings. Click the orange + Connect button. The integration is now enabled — your Raken time card CSV exports will use the ComputerEase format from this point forward.
Setting Up an Import Layout in ComputerEase
Before importing for the first time, create a Raken import layout in ComputerEase:
In ComputerEase, go to Payroll System > Enter Labor Distribution by Job > OK > Cancel.
Click File > Import from a File.
Click the ? button in the Use Layout field, then click New.
In the Labor Distribution Import Layout window, enter Raken as the description. Check Comma Delimited and check the option to skip the first row.
Add a value to each field in ascending order (e.g., emp - col #1, type - col #2, etc.).
Click Save and close the window.
You only need to create this layout once — it's reusable for all future imports.
How to Export Time Cards for ComputerEase
Log into the Raken web app and click Time in the left side navigation.
Click Time cards, then click Timesheets.
Select the pay period you want to export.
Click the download icon (gray box with downward arrow) in the top right.
Select ComputerEase from the bottom of the list. The pre-formatted CSV downloads to your device.
Import the CSV into ComputerEase
Open ComputerEase and log in.
Click File > Import.
In the import window, choose All Files and locate the downloaded CSV.
Select the file and click Open.
Click OK to proceed, then click Import. Time cards are entered in the Labor Distribution by Job window for processing.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
The import is failing — what should I check?
The most common cause of import failures is mismatched data. Verify that your Cost Codes are in the correct format ([Job].[Phase].[Category]), your Employee IDs match ComputerEase employee numbers exactly, and your Job Numbers match ComputerEase job numbers exactly. For help setting up an import layout, contact ComputerEase Support.
What's the difference between this and the ComputerEase Direct API integration?
The CSV integration is a manual export/import process — you download a file from Raken and upload it to ComputerEase each pay period. The ComputerEase Direct API integration syncs data automatically every 10–20 minutes and includes inbound sync of Projects, Employees, Cost Codes, and Classifications. Both can be used together if needed.
Do I need to set up the import layout every time?
No. Create the Raken layout in ComputerEase once — it's saved and reusable for all future imports.
