Materials in Raken define the items your team tracks quantities against on the jobsite — concrete poured, conduit installed, paving completed, and more. Once added at the company level, materials are available across all your projects for production quantity logging.

Quick Answer

To add a material in Raken:

  1. Log into the Raken web app and click Company in the left side navigation.

  2. Click Materials.

  3. Enter the Material name and Unit of Measurement, then click the green + button to save.

How to Add Materials

Step 1: Navigate to Materials

Log into the Raken web app. Click Company in the left side navigation, then click Materials.

Step 2: Add a Material

At the top of the materials list, enter the Material name (e.g., "3/4" EMT Conduit", "C/P/S- 24" Curb & Gutter", "Concrete Paving") and its Unit of Measurement (e.g., lf, sy, sf, cy, $). Click the green + button to save.

Step 3: Repeat for All Materials

Add every material type your team tracks in the field. Once saved, materials are available across all projects immediately — no additional project-level setup required.

How to Import Materials in Bulk

Click the upload icon in the top right of the Materials page to bulk import from a spreadsheet. Download the template, fill in your Material and Unit of Measurement columns, and upload the completed file.

Managing Existing Materials

Click the delete icon (trash) to the right of any material to remove it from the company library. Deleting a material does not affect historical production entries logged against it — it only prevents it from being selected on new entries.

To edit a material name or unit of measurement, delete it and re-enter it with the corrected values.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

What units of measurement can I use?

You can enter any unit of measurement as free text — common examples include lf (linear feet), sf (square feet), sy (square yards), cy (cubic yards), ls (lump sum), and $ (dollar value). Use whatever abbreviation matches your company's standard.

Are materials shared across all projects?

Yes. Materials are defined at the company level and are available on every project automatically. You cannot create project-specific materials that aren't in the company library.

Can I export my materials list?

Yes. Click the download icon in the top right of the Materials page to export your full materials list as a CSV file.

Who can add or manage materials?

Materials management is available to Account Administrators only. Field users can select from the existing materials list when logging production quantities.
