If your crew works the same jobs and cost codes day after day, copying work logs and time cards from a previous day saves you from re-entering the same information. You can selectively copy entries from any past date — with or without hours — directly from the web app or mobile app.

Quick Answer

To copy work logs or time cards from a previous day:

On web:

Go to Projects > [Project] > Daily Logs > Work logs, click Copy, select the date and entries to copy, and click Copy selected logs.

On mobile:

Go to the project, tap Daily Logs > Work logs, tap the Copy icon in the top right corner, select the entries, and tap Save.

You can choose whether to include the hours from the original entries or copy the structure only.

Step-by-Step Instructions

On the Web

Step 1: Navigate to Work Logs

Log into the Raken web app. Click Projects in the left side menu. Select the project for which you want to copy entries. Click Daily Logs in the project left side menu, then click Work logs.

Step 2: Open the Copy Tool

Click the Copy button in the center of the page.

Step 3: Select the Source Date

Select the date from which you want to copy work log and time card data.

Step 4: Select the Entries to Copy

Check the work logs and/or time cards you want to copy to the current day. You can also choose to include the hours associated with those entries by selecting the optional hours checkbox.

Deselect the hours option if you want to copy the crew and cost code structure but enter fresh hours for the day.

Step 5: Copy the Entries

Click the orange Copy selected logs button. The selected entries are copied to the current day's report.

On Mobile

Step 1: Navigate to Work Logs

Open the Raken mobile app. Tap the project for which you want to copy entries. Tap Daily Logs, then tap Work logs.

Step 2: Open the Copy Tool

Tap the Copy icon in the top right corner of the screen.

Step 3: Select the Entries to Copy

Select the work logs and/or time cards you want to copy to the current day. Optionally choose to include the hours from the original entries.

Step 4: Save

Tap the Save button in the top right corner. The selected entries are copied to today's report.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

Can I copy entries from any past date or only the previous day?

You can copy from any past date — not just the previous day. Use the date picker in the Copy tool to select any date that has existing entries.

Can I copy time cards and work logs separately?

Yes. When selecting entries to copy, you can choose only work logs, only time cards, or both. Each entry has its own checkbox.

Can I edit the Work Log name after copying?

Yes. Work Log names are fully editable after copying. To edit the name on an existing or copied Work Log, tap or click the ellipsis (…) menu on the entry and select Edit work log name. You can switch between a company-based name and a fully custom name at any time.

What happens to the hours when I copy entries?

By default, the hours from the original entries are included in the copy. Deselect the hours option if you want to copy the entry structure only and enter new hours manually.

Can I copy entries from a different project?

No. The Copy tool copies entries within the same project only. You cannot copy from one project to another.

Is the Copy feature available on both web and mobile?

Yes. The Copy tool is available in Daily Logs > Work logs on both the web app and the mobile app.
