Supervisors or workers tracking time with Raken may need to account for overnight shifts. With Raken's latest update, overnight shifts tracked via employee time clock are now handled as a single, continuous time entry that persists across the midnight boundary. The system automatically carries over the clock-in time, ensuring all hours are captured under one record without interruption.

How Overnight Shifts are Tracked in the Mobile Time Clock (App Version)

When employees clock in before midnight (e.g. 10pm), Raken will continue tracking their hours past midnight, with all hours staying on the start date.

  • Clock in normally at the start of your shift (e.g., 10:00 PM)

  • As midnight passes, the active time clock continues running without stopping

  • No automatic cutoff or warning messages

  • The timer keeps adding hours to the original time card

  • When you clock out in the morning, everything is recorded under a single entry

In the app's Entries page, you'll see the full overnight period listed together (e.g., "Started at 10:00 PM tonight – continuing until morning").

How Overnight Shifts Work in the Supervisor/Lead Menu (Web Version)

Supervisors can now easily add or edit time for their crew in one go:

  • Select your project and employee

  • Enter a start time (e.g., 8:00 PM Friday)

  • Set the end time on the following day, crossing midnight (e.g., 4:00 AM Saturday)

  • Save as one unified entry

The time card displays clearly as a continuous shift spanning two calendar days, with total hours calculated accurately for payroll, reporting, and compliance.
