Tracking down text messages, phone calls, and emails is a headache and can put your projects at risk without a clear history of communication. Raken messaging streamlines your project and company communication - keeping it one, easy to use and searchable place.
We know here at Raken that communication is vital to the success of a project. Effective communication can be exceedingly difficult with team members spread out across projects and even others stuck in the office doing paperwork. With this in mind, we have added a new messaging feature to the app.
Turning on Messaging
Raken messaging is free for your entire team and already included in your subscription. Initially, the feature won’t be visible to your field teams from the mobile app until a Project Admin or Account Admin enables it from the web.
Steps to turn on messaging:
1. Go to https://app.rakenapp.com/messaging
2. Click Enable Messaging
Accessing Messaging on the web
From the web, you can easily set up channels and groups for your team, so they don’t have to.
Create a new channel by clicking on the + button.
Add team members and edit your channel name.
Add your whole company for topics such as company announcements, scheduling, or safety.
Or add specific team members for channels by the crew, trade, or project
Send messages, photos, and files
See when messages are sent, received, and read
Search through your channel history for previous conversations and threads
Accessing Messaging on mobile
Once you’ve enabled messaging for your team, messaging is visible from your projects list in the top right corner.
Receive and respond to messages
Get notified with push notifications
Create new channels or send direct 1:1 messages
Add new team members to an existing channel
Enabling notifications on iOS
Tap on the Settings icon on your Home Screen.
Scroll to find and tap on Raken
Tap on Notifications
Toggle Allow Notifications
Enabling notifications on Android
No permission or setup is required for Android. They are enabled by default.
Please contact us if you don't see the new feature in your app. We are applying these changes gradually and not to all clients simultaneously to avoid any issues. Thank you for your understanding!
