Tasks keep your projects on track by giving every team member clear assignments with due dates and attachments. Create and manage tasks from the web app or mobile app so nothing slips through the cracks.

To assign a task:
Log into the Raken Web App or open the Raken mobile app.
Navigate to Projects and select your project.
Click or tap Tasks in the project menu.
Click the + Task button (web) or the orange + button (mobile).
Assign a team member, add a description, attach photos if needed, and set a due date.
Click Save (web) or tap the ✓ checkmark (mobile).
Note: Tasks can only be assigned to employees with a Raken login — Project Workers, Project Members, Project Admins, and Account Admins. Workers (the role with no login) cannot be assigned tasks as they have no way to receive notifications or view tasks in the app. To assign tasks to a Worker, update their role to Project Worker or higher in Directory > Employees.
How to Assign and Manage Tasks on the Web
Step 1: Navigate to Tasks
Log into the Raken Web App. Click Projects in the left side navigation bar and select your project. Click Tasks in the left side project menu.
Step 2: Create a New Task
Click the + Task button in the top right corner of the page.
Step 3: Fill In Task Details
Assign a team member, write a task description, attach any relevant photos, and set a due date.
Step 4: Save the Task
Click Save in the top right corner. The task will now be visible to the assigned team member.
How to Assign and Manage Tasks on the Mobile App
Step 1: Navigate to Tasks
Open the Raken mobile app and tap your project. Tap Tasks in the Project tools grid. Use the tabs at the top to filter by Open, Completed, or All tasks.
Step 2: Create a New Task
Tap the orange + button in the lower right corner of the screen.
Step 3: Fill In Task Details
Assign a team member, write a task description, add attachments, and set a due date.
Step 4: Save the Task
Tap the ✓ (checkmark) in the top right corner to save.
Troubleshooting and FAQ
An employee isn't showing up in the task assignee list — why?
Only employees with a Raken login can be assigned tasks. If an employee has the Worker role (no login), they will not appear in the assignee list. To assign tasks to them, go to Directory > Employees > [Employee name] and update their role to Project Worker or higher. They will then appear as an assignee option once they have accepted their invitation.
Can I attach photos to a task?
Yes. When creating or editing a task, you can attach photos from your device on both web and mobile.
Can I filter tasks by status?
Yes. On mobile, use the tabs to view Open, Completed, or All tasks. On the web, use the filter options in the Tasks view to sort by status, assignee, or due date.
Will the assignee be notified when a task is created?
Yes. Assigned team members receive a notification when a task is assigned to them.
