Raken's time card reports give payroll administrators and project managers the data they need to process hours, flag exceptions, and compare scheduled vs. actual labor. This article covers the three time-card-related reports available from the Projects Reports menu.
How to Access Time Card Reports
Log into the Raken web app. Click Projects in the left navigation and open your project. Click the Reports button in the top right corner, then select the report type from the dropdown.
Note: Additional time card export options are also available directly from the Time tab (Time cards views). See the Raken Reports Overview for more detail.
Time Card by Worker Report
The Time card by worker report exports a detailed breakdown of employee time card data for a selected period. It includes hours worked, pay types, cost codes, scheduled vs. actual times, variance, and payroll notes — organized by employee across one or more projects.
What's Included
The CSV export includes the following columns: Date, Employee name, EID, Crew name, Project, Classification, Scheduled start, Actual start, Scheduled end, Actual end, Planned hours, Actual hours, Variance (hrs), Payroll notes.
How to Run
Click Reports and select Time card by worker.
Select your Project scope — Active projects, Active and inactive projects, Selected projects, or Selected project groups.
Select your Time frame.
Enter the recipient email address in Send to.
Click Send to run once, or use the Scheduled tab to set up recurring automated delivery.
Format: CSV
Delivery: Email — you will receive a message from Raken with a download link when the file is ready.
Time Card Violations Report
The Time card violations report flags time card exceptions that may require review — such as missed punches, employees clocking in or out outside the project geofence, or other anomalies recorded during clock in/out. Use this report to identify and resolve issues before payroll runs.
How to Run
Click Reports and select Time card violations.
Select your Project scope.
Select your Time frame.
Enter the recipient email address in Send to.
Click Send or set up a Scheduled report.
Format: CSV
Labor Hours Report
The Labor hours report compares scheduled hours (from Resource Scheduling) against actual hours entered on time cards. It helps you identify attendance gaps, over- or under-allocation, and production mismatches before they become payroll or budget problems.
How to Run
Click Reports and select Labor hours.
Select your Project scope.
Select your Time frame.
Enter the recipient email address in Send to.
Click Send or set up a Scheduled report.
Format: CSV
Note: The Labor hours report is available to accounts using both Resource Scheduling and Time Cards. If your account does not have Resource Scheduling active, scheduled hours will not be present in the export.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
What format should I use for payroll processing?
Use the Time card by worker CSV for most payroll workflows — it includes all hours, pay types, cost codes, and variance data in a format compatible with most payroll and accounting systems. For Foundation Software, use the Foundation Software CSV export available from the Time tab.
Can I filter the Time card by worker report to a specific employee or crew?
The Projects Reports version of this report exports all employees for the selected project scope and time frame. For more granular filtering by employee, group, classification, or cost code, use the download options available directly from the Time > Time cards views.
Can I schedule the Time card by worker report to arrive every pay period?
Yes. Use the Scheduled tab in the report modal to configure recurring delivery. Set the time frame to match your pay period frequency and the report will arrive automatically without logging in.
The Labor hours report shows no scheduled hours — why?
The Labor hours report pulls scheduled data from Resource Scheduling. If no shifts have been created in Resource Scheduling for the selected period and project, the scheduled hours columns will be empty. Only actual time card hours will appear.
