The Company Directory is Raken's centralized hub for managing everyone connected to your organization—your employees, the external companies you work with, and the contacts associated with those companies. It gives you one place to control access, roles, and contact information across all your projects.
Quick Answer
To access the Company Directory:
Log into the Raken web app.
Click Directory in the left side menu.
Use the tabs to navigate between Employees, Companies, and Contacts.
What the Company Directory Manages
The Company Directory organizes your organization around three entity types:
Employees — People at your company with varying levels of access to Raken based on their assigned role.
Companies — External organizations you regularly work with, such as subcontractors, general contractors, or clients.
Contacts — Individuals outside your company who are associated with the companies in your directory.
This unified structure eliminates duplicate records, keeps contact information current, and ensures your field and office teams always have access to the right people.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Open the Company Directory
Log into the Raken web app. Click Directory in the left side menu. You'll land on the main Directory view showing your three tabs: Employees, Companies, and Contacts.
Step 2: Manage Employees
Click the Employees tab to view everyone at your organization with access to Raken. From here you can add new employees, edit their profile and contact details, assign their role, and deactivate access when needed. Each employee's role controls what they can see and do across your projects.
Step 3: Manage Companies
Click the Companies tab to view and manage all external organizations connected to your account. Add new companies, edit their details, or assign them to projects so they appear in Work Logs and other project-level features. For detailed steps, see How to Add and Manage Companies in Raken.
Step 4: Manage Contacts
Click the Contacts tab to view and manage individuals associated with the companies in your directory. Contacts do not have login access to Raken but can be assigned to projects and included in report distribution. For detailed steps, see How to Add and Manage Contacts in Raken.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
What's the difference between the Company Directory and the Project Directory?
The Company Directory manages organization-wide records. The Project Directory controls which employees and companies are assigned to a specific project. Records must exist in the Company Directory before they can be added to a project.
If I update a contact's info in the Company Directory, does it update across all projects?
Yes. Changes made in the Company Directory—such as editing a contact's email or phone number—are reflected everywhere that contact appears across your projects.
Who can access the Company Directory?
Account Admins have full access. Project Admins and Project Members may have limited access based on your company's role and permissions settings.
